i received an inquiry from a fellow vampire addict about the vampire rules on this show. if there's one thing that 'twilight' and 'true blood' and whatever other vampire stuff i don't even know about has taught us, it's that the vampire rules are not reliable. everyone has taken the liberty of modifying them as they see fit. so today's question is:

Q:   can vampires have babies on this show?

no. sorry. i know, but them's the rules. in episode 11 ("bloodlines") damon tells elena, with a characteristic waggle of his eyebrows, that vampires can't procreate, but they "love to try."
